Verifactu Fines: Up to EUR 50,000 for Non-Compliance
Verifactu is not optional. Law 11/2021 (Anti-Fraud Law) sets specific financial penalties for non-compliance. Here are the real numbers.
How much can I lose if I don't comply with Verifactu?
Royal Decree 1007/2023 establishes fines of up to EUR 50,000 per business or freelancer sanctioned. Fines are not automatic — the tax authority must detect the non-compliance. But from July 2027, tax inspections will verify that invoicing software is compliant.
Types of infraction
Using non-certified invoicing software: EUR 50,000 fine per fiscal year. Altering or deleting invoicing records: serious infraction. Not including the mandatory QR code: minor infraction per invoice.
Since July 2025 you can no longer use non-compliant software
Although full compliance starts in July 2027, since July 2025 it has been illegal to sell or distribute invoicing software that doesn't meet Verifactu standards. If your current provider hasn't updated their software, you're at risk.
How to make sure you're covered
Choose software that uses an AEAT-certified provider. k-factu uses the built-in Verifactu engine, which automatically handles hash chaining, QR code generation, and AEAT communication. You create the invoice, we guarantee compliance — from EUR 9.99/month.
